Higher education
More than 1,000 students receive training every year in mechanical and production engineering and materials in engineering colleges such as Insa Rennes (Institut national des sciences appliquées), Supélec, ENST Bretagne and Ecole Louis de Broglie. There are also production engineering courses at the University of Rennes 1 and, more particularly, at the IUT de Rennes, within the Mechanical and production engineering department.
Ecole normale supérieure de Cachan - Antenne de Bretagne
Master’s degree in Mecatronics and preparation for a high-level post-graduate degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechanics or electrical engineering.
Ecole Louis de Broglie - Groupe Ecam
Two departments:
- Automated production science applied to mechanics, robotics, automation, leading current production processes
- Materials science applied to new materials : ceramics, compound materials, special polymeres, optic fibres and new techniques thin, layer disposition, ionic implantation.
Insa
Three departments: Civil engineering and urban planning, Mechanical and control systems engineering and Materials science and nanotechnology
Supélec
The courses of the Control and system engineering option are oriented towards the training of engineers capable of developing control systems with a systems approach using the most advanced modelling, analysis, and design methods.
