In France, more than 1,000 research units working in more than 100 scientific disciplines, in Rennes more than 400 agents working in the following scientific disciplines:
- Chemistry: molecular photonics, bio and nano photonics, chemical synthesis, functional molecules and materials, chemistry for data storage and treatment.
- Environment and sciences of the universe: total changes and eco environmental systems, landscapes, evolution, geosciences.
- Physics: nanomaterials, laser and applications for materials and imagery, molecular systems dynamics, complex systems, biophysics, mechanics of glasses.
- Biology: genetics, cellular biology, cancer, medical imagery, neurogenesis, ethology.
- Social sciences: economy, society, history, teledetection, archaeology.
- Mathematics: geometry, mathematics of random, analyse.
