Engineering Master's course (1700 students), six engineering specialities, 2 poles of excellence :
- Information and communication systems & technologies : electronics and computer engineering, communication systems and networks, computer science.
- Materials, structures and mechanical engineering : materials science and nanotechnology, civil engineering and urban planning, mechanical and control systems engineering.
Research training : 7 research master specialities.

Research and development
Research is carried out in six laboratories (five joint research units of the CNRS, associated with other universities and one research centre) and is organized around four broad thematic areas:
- Civil and mechanical engineering (mechatronic engineering, structural mechanics, materials, etc.).
- Electronics and telecommunications (communications systems, antennas, images, etc.).
- Solid state physics (optoelectronics, metallurgy, chemistry, inorganic materials, etc.).
- Data processing and applied mathematics (networks and systems, digital imagery, stochastic processes, etc.).
International
- International section for engineers.
- Double degrees (UK, Brazil, Vietnam).
- International mobility compulsory from the start of 2011-2012: 140 partnership agreements in 40 countries.
- 21% foreign students on the campus (45 different nationalities).
- 9 foreign langages taught, summer school with intensive french langage courses.
Others activities:
Double degrees in technology and management (agreements with Audencia in Nantes, ESC Rennes (Business School) and the Institut de gestion in Rennes (Business Management School).
- 3 thematic sections : high-level sport section, cultural sections, management and innovation.
