Activity in Rennes Atalante
Savoir-faire Linux Rennes offers in-depth expertise in open-source embedded product engineering and systems with a high degree of specialization around the Linux operating system. Our engineers work on industrial architectures from design to product support in collaboration with hardware teams.
Products and services
Savoir-faire Linux offers its expertise on industrial architectures (iMX, STM32) in various advanced sectors. It offers in-depth expertise in streaming solutions, image processing and broadcast technologies and actively contributes to several open-source projects as Kernel Linux, Buildroot, Yocto, RIOT-OS, FFmpeg and Gstreamer.
Savoir-faire Linux has developed the FLOSS project Jami.net, a universal, secure and decentralized (P2P) communication platform respecting privacy.
Jami integrates advanced technologies as Blockchain and is based on OpenDHT, an open source middleware developed by Savoir-faire Linux, that allows the establishment of a secure peer-to-peer stream (data, video)between 2 connected device.
Research and development
Pioneer to identify disruptive technologies, Savoir-faire Linux is constantly monitoring the latest innovations thanks to a constant R&D activity and its strong involvement in the free software community.
The Rennes Center of Expertise is developing R&D expertise, both on the contribution to Open Source projects (Kernel Linux, Buildroot, Yocto, RIOT-OS, FFmpeg, Gstreamer) and on the Jami and OpenDHT project. The team responded to an EI Digital project from the European Union with IMT Atlantique and plans to port OpenDHT on micro-OS.
International
Savoir-faire Linux Rennes is part of a group headquartered in Montreal (Canada). It carries an offer marked by its double French and North American culture.
The Rennes subsidiary aims to reach Europe (already customers in Germany and Belgium). But she interacts daily with the headquarters in Montreal by participating in joint projects on its offer of expertise.
