Activity in Rennes Atalante
The 24,600 students attending courses at Rennes 1 are registered into 19 university departments in Rennes and in Brittany offering 220 degree courses in higher education:
- Sciences and technology (mathematics, computing, electronics, telecommunications, chemistry, earth sciences, physics, mechanical engineering, biology, environment, agronomy.
- Health (medicine, pharmacy, odontology, midwifery.)

- Human and social sciences (philosophy, information and communication).
The University of Rennes 1 set up a foundation to link the academic world and the business community. The Foundation Rennes 1 "Progress, Innovation, Entrepreneurship" leads concrete actions in favor of excellence research, student's professionnal integration and international development. The Foundation Rennes 1 is a new network where academics, founders and donors come together.
