AMA (advanced mobile applications), a sister company of Ubisoft, Gameloft, Guillemot Corporation and Longtail Studios, opened a design studio in Rennes in April.

The international editor of games and mobile apps based in London selected Rennes because of its daily flights and high-speed train services to London and Paris, enabling its teams to meet partner operators and editors every week. Moreover, the universities and technology institutes in Rennes make it easier to recruit the skills that the company needs.

AMA develops games and lifestyle apps that appeal to people’s daily concerns in the areas of love, health and beauty.

It publishes them on Android platforms, Apple iOS (iPhones, iPads), RIM, Java, Bada, Brew, Symbion and Windows phone. The latest title, “Love Test”, was downloaded more than 300,000 times in just a few weeks on Android. The company is very active in current trendy markets with free downloads (Free2Play) and 3D games.

Set up in 2004 by the Guillemot brothers, the company sells its products in 40 countries through phone and tablet operator and manufacturer gateway sites. It employs fifty people including seven in Western France, three in its office in Vannes and four in Rennes. Two jobs, a Product Head and a Project Manager specialising in video games, will become available in Rennes between now and the first semester 2013. AMA also has offices in Paris and San Diego, and a design studio in Bucarest.
