Annie Blandin from Rennes, awarded a Jean Monnet European Chair.
A Jean Monnet Chair has just been awarded to Annie Blandin, specialist in European law and telecommunications and media. The chair, entitled « European Union and Information Society” attributed to her for her work in the field of the European law. Endowed with 45 000 € by the European Union, it is in addition to six chairs the Jean Monnet Centre d’excellence in Rennes recently renewed by the Commission.
Member of the Centre de recherches européennes de l’Institut de l’Ouest: law and Europe (UMR CNRS 6262) where she is responsible for research on the European society of information. In addition to her teaching at Telecom Bretagne, she intervenes in various masters in Rennes (European Union law and the WTO, EU policies) and in Paris at the Law School of Sciences P. She regularly publishes articles covering a range of themes related to the structuring of human activities and law in the information society. She supervises dissertations, theses and post-doctoral students on these topics. Her activities are related to the Maison des sciences de l’Homme in Brittany, via her participation in the GIS Marsouin, ( the humanities and the information society), and the Loustic observation platform form. She is a referent advisor for ICT law in Labex Comin Labs.Her work at an engineering school has also involved her in collaborative research projects, particularly in the context of the”Media and Networks” competitiveness cluster. Jean Monnet Chairs are awarded on criteria of excellence for teachers in higher education and renowned specialists in the field of European integration. In 2011, 30 Jean Monnet Chairs were awarded on a global scale among which 2 in France.
