Kereval is diversifying into interoperability tests for healthcare software

Kereval was selected by the IHE-Europe association specialising in the interoperability of ICTs in the healthcare sector to industrialise the IHE-Services platform.

The tool, initially developed by a team at Inria Rennes-Bretagne Atlantique, was instrumental in achieving Europe-wide acceptance for the international IHE initiative (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise). It provides services for independent suppliers wishing to test the interoperability of e-health projects across Europe. To allow for its recent diversification, Kereval has recruited four engineers from the Inria Rennes-Bretagne Atlantique team. They will be led by Eric Poiseau, seconded from Inria as project leader.
This strategic change is designed to meet the increasing number of requests for interoperability testing received by IHE Europe. At present, the tools are used mainly by participants in Connectathon IHE-Europe, which involves more than 300 software engineers from 90 organisations every year in an intensive connectivity marathon. 
Set up in 2002 by Abdelmoula Tamoudi, Kereval is an independent laboratory specialising in the testing and quality improvement of software (accredited Iso/IEC 17025 by Cofrac) for the telecom and automobile industries and the banking sector. With premises in Thorigné-Fouillard near Rennes, it employs some forty people and achieved a provisional turnover of the order of 2.5 million € in 2011, from a client base that includes Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Fortunéo, Suravenir, Pages Jaunes, Yves Rocher etc.
