Syrlinks partners with Thales Alenia Space to develop the Argos Neo miniaturised payload

Syrlinks and Thales Alenia Space have set up a partnership to develop the miniaturised Argos Neo payload.

The payload will be carried into orbit by the Angels nanosatellite demonstrator, the new nanosatellite built by the CNES (French Centre for Space Studies) and Nexeya, a Toulouse-based company. The satellite will be launched at the end of 2019 to collect data from the Argos beacons used to track ships and ocean conditions. The Argos Neo system will demonstrate the operational capacity of a miniaturised payload with unprecedented levels of complexity and performance on a Nanosat platform. Cutting edge instruments such as these have many uses, from helping to understand climate phenomena and improving weather forecasts, to protecting marine ecosystems and tracking ships across the oceans.

Beyond these applications, this multi-purpose platform is designed to meet many different needs in terms of data collection and data localisation.

Syrlinks is a key player in this operation, supplying its radiocommunication links and geolocation systems for low-orbit satellites. Syrlinks will also provide the radiocommunication links for the Angels nanosatellite demonstrator.

Syrlinks is a Rennes-based company designing and manufacturing wireless communication and geolocation systems for space, defence and safety applications. Syrlinks currently has 68 staff on its payroll.
